Decorative centerpieces

Tables are usually one of the most problematic elements when it comes to decorating, it is difficult to find elements that match on the one hand with the table itself and that are light enough not to overload the composition. On the contrary, they have an undeniable advantage and that is that they combine very well with almost any centerpiece, due to their neutral and often timeless style even the most ornate centerpieces will be usable and will create an original contrast.

One of the main rules that we have to keep in mind is that if we choose the same type of wood in which our table is composed we always get it right, but usually with a natural wood centerpiece we can play a little more and choose types of wood that by their color, their shapes combine very well with it. In addition, natural wood centerpieces are usually much lighter than other types of centerpieces, so transportation and storage is usually much easier. Besides, they are usually quite resistant in general, and even to falls, so we will not have to worry too much about their durability. In addition, the centerpieces naturally come pre-treated, in the same way that happens with the rest of the furniture, so we just have to take a minimum of precautions.

This type of natural wood centerpieces are usually perfect for rustic decorations or those who want to go for a Nordic style, they can even provide a very good contrast if they are placed on iron or methacrylate tables if what we want is to get an original touch between different elements. If on the other hand we want to go for a more vintage and traditional style, it does not make much sense to choose a centerpiece to use, as they are usually very overloaded. To solve this problem the easiest way is to resort to a decorative plate, on the one hand we will have a way to fill the space inside our table and we will also know that we are not resorting to something excessively overloaded, because even if the motifs of the plate are very detailed the volume they occupy, especially vertically, is minimal. When choosing a decorative plate we will have to keep in mind the type of color, as it will serve to complete the composition of our table

Small trays

Another way to resort to centerpieces is to use a small tray that serves as a support for decorative figures of our choice, the benefit in this case is twofold: on the one hand we have the advantage of not having a centerpiece of excessive volume or a solid piece, and on the other hand we can put a centerpiece to our liking with the decorative figures that have caught our attention. For example, we can go for a more vintage and traditional decoration if we choose a small tray with a centerpiece composed of flowers or candles. If on the other hand we want to go for a more modern style we can use metal decorative figures that in combination with a small tray, also made of metal, do not clash at all in the room.

We can even use a small tray to combine with decorative glass figures, something that is not usually recommended in this type of composition. However, decorating with a small tray we can easily move the entire composition with the assurance that nothing will break.

Decorative vessels

If we have a large dining table very few centerpieces are going to help us to generate a real sense of completeness. The surface area is usually too large for a traditional centerpiece or even a large decorative plate to suffice. In these cases we need to provide volume as the table is large enough to support it in a visual way, and that is why it is best to resort to a decorative vase.

This type of decorative pots are usually made of ceramic, although we can also find them in other materials such as wood or metal, and even in the case of the smaller ones they are usually excessive because of their great verticality. In a large table on the contrary, this type of decorative pots are very useful, they will give you a visual sensation that they contribute much more to the table than a simple centerpiece. We can also use this type of decorative pots as a support for other elements such as dried flowers, which more traditional or more rustic decorations will cause a great impact.

Another great advantage of these decorative pots are the different motifs that we can find present in it, it is true that most of this type of pots usually go for flat designs, but there are also floral or arabesque pots that will make a perfect composition with the most modern styles.

Decorative bowl

A decorative bowl basically serves the same function as a vase, however the bowl is usually smaller and squat and is usually associated with more traditional decorations. The main advantage of the bowl over the vase is its top opening that allows any decorative element to be displayed.
